Our Deliverables
What You Get
Every survey produces a set of deliverables designed to support the design and construction process. These range from raw spatial data captured on site through to fully developed BIM models and measured drawings.
Point Cloud Data
Within one week of the survey, you will receive a link to a secure online portal where the full point cloud model will be hosted. From here you can navigate between scan locations, explore the building in three dimensions and measure any dimension directly within the model. This provides a complete digital record of the building exactly as it existed at the time of the survey.
360° Site Photography
If requested, the panoramic photography captured during the survey will also be available through the same secure portal. These images are linked to each scan location, allowing you to toggle between the point cloud data and full photographic views of the space, much like navigating through Google Street View.
Interactive 3D BIM Model
Using survey data, we build an accurate 3D BIM model, effectively a digital twin of the building.
The modelling process involves carefully tracing the point cloud data to create a precise and coordinated digital representation of the building geometry. As architects, we are uniquely placed to interpret the context of the data we are translating into the model.
The level of detail is agreed in advance depending on the requirements of the project. The model can be shared as the native BIM file or exported to other suitable formats.
Measured Architectural Drawings
Measured plans, sections and elevations can be produced either directly from the point cloud data or generated from the BIM model if one has been commissioned.
In either case, the drawings will contain all standard survey information together with any additional detail that was requested at the quotation stage.
Proposed BIM Model
If LA London is appointed as architect for the project, the survey BIM model provides an ideal foundation for developing the design. We will also refund the cost of producing the survey BIM model.
Because the existing building has already been modelled in detail, we can rapidly develop concept proposals directly within the model environment. This helps test design ideas, coordinate changes and communicate proposals clearly from the earliest stage.
